The memories of your wedding last a lifetime, and so do the pictures from the big day. So the last thing you want to remember or see is skin that’s not the beautiful glow you desire. Which is why it’s so important to have a plan when it comes to your skin care routine leading up to the wedding. There should definitely be a plan of action when it comes to having glowing skin for your wedding day, it’s not something that happens overnight. We’re sharing a few of our favorite tips to consider in the months leading up to your big day.
Start Ahead of Time
Gorgeous glowing skin doesn’t happen in a day, so it’s important to plan in advance. This doesn’t mean just days or weeks in advance, but months! Experts have said if you’re thinking of doing anything new or different in your makeup and/or beauty routine it’s important to try them out 4-6 months before your wedding day. This holds especially true for any types of procedures or fillers like botox. Because you’re not 100% sure as to how these types of things will turn out you want to be sure there’s enough time for the effects to wear off before your big day should they need to. On top of this, if you’re wanting to amp up the appearance of your skin overall you may want to start incorporating microdermabrasion and/or laser treatments to get your skin on track. These types of procedures also are recommended to start doing months before your wedding day.
We always hear about exfoliating the skin on our face but for your big day you’re not going to want to skip the rest of your skin. It’s important to be gentle and use products that you practiced/used before. But having a good exfoliation on your skin can be great to give your skin that extra boost of glow all over for your big day.
Get Your Glow
There are some natural ways for you to amp up and maintain your skin’s glow. Staying hydrated and eating as many healthy foods (like fruits and veggies) is a great way to help your skin have a natural glowing look. In the last couple of weeks leading up to your wedding, you’re going to want to really focus on drinking as much water and eating as many glow-boosting foods as possible. This can also help with your overall skin’s appearance with any last minute breakouts as well.
Talk to a Dermatologist
If you currently see a dermatologist, it’s worth asking if they have any options for any last minute breakouts. Since it’s common for pesky breakouts to pop up at the worst times, it’s worth at least being knowledgeable on options. Some doctors are willing to provide an oral treatment that can help breakouts vanish quickly, generally they’re not advised to use on a regular basis but they may make an exception for your wedding day.
If you’re getting ready for your wedding, it’s never too early to start prepping your skin to have that gorgeous glow! Do any of these skin care tips surprise you?
