‘Tis the season of traveling! Even if you’re not traveling anytime soon, when you do travel it can be tricky to ensure that your skin care routine is on track without going over your baggage allowance. Now that baggage restrictions and regulations are pretty strict, it provides more overwhelm related to your skin care. We’re big believers in maintaining your skin care routine while you’re traveling, but also doing so in a way that doesn’t feel like such a hassle. Throughout our mindset related to this topic, we’ve discovered some tried and true fuss-free travel skin care tips to help you along the way.
Consider The Climate
Wherever your traveling, one of the keys to really keeping your skin in check during your trip is understanding the climate you’re headed to. Different climates call for different skin care needs. When our skin is exposed to different types of climates it tends to react in a certain way, so considering the climate before you even pack is going to really help you to bring the right skin care products. For example, if you’re headed to a climate that’s very dry and you live in a humid climate packing an upgraded moisturizing product is going to save your skin from having a panic throughout the change.
Adjust The Size
Of course, with the baggage restrictions and overall desire to keep things as minimal as possible when traveling the size of the skin care products you use plays a huge role in your fuss-free travel plan. One of our favorite ways to make sure you’re able to use your favorite skin care products while traveling is to purchase travel size containers. Simply adding your favorite skin care products to the travel size containers is all you need to feel confident in the products you use throughout your travels. Since there aren’t a lot of skin care products that come in travel size options, this is a way to DIY the process. You’ll know that your products aren’t going to weigh down your bags with the full size containers but can feel good knowing you won’t need to use any hotel provided options (which tend to be too harsh on the skin).
Focus On The Basics
While we want you to consider the climate you’re headed to, traveling can be stressful enough and it’s also the time to focus on the basics in your skin care routine. If you use a lot of masks and specialty treatment products, take a hard look at the products you use and streamline to make your skin care routine more fuss-free during your traveling. This will also help you to know what small containers you need to purchase. Of course, you want to include the 3 basics of cleansing, toning and moisturizing. If you have a few additional specialty products you use on a regular basis it’s really up to you to decide whether or not you want to stick to the basics or include them as well.
