Struggling with acne breakouts? Acne is a common skin care concern for MANY people. Since acne is such a common skin condition, there are countless products, tips and treatments available that claim to help fight the issue. While some of those things work, if you’re anything like us sometimes you’d rather try something that’s more natural in the approach to fight it. Since we’re all exposed to so many chemicals and pollutants throughout our daily lives, making use of natural skin care alternatives can be incredibly beneficial. Recently, there’s been a lot of chatter around using natural oils that fight acne. Natural oils have been getting a lot of air time in the skin care industry, and with good reason. Here are a few of the natural oils that fight acne, to try out for yourself!
Tea Tree Oil
This particular natural oil has been getting a lot of positive chat around it. Tea tree oil has been found to be a really great oil for fighting acne. In fact, a recent study on tea tree oil found it to be as effective as benzoyl peroxide. If you’re not familiar benzoyl peroxide is a common ingredient used in acne fighting skin care products-so that’s a huge finding! The bonus of tea tree oil versus benzoyl peroxide is because it’s natural, it’s also less drying and harsh on the skin. Tea tree oil helps reduce inflammation and redness in the skin, both of which are associated with acne.
While eucalyptus oil is great for its relaxing benefits, it’s also a powerhouse at fighting acne. It’s gentle enough to use on even very sensitive skin types, making it a great alternative to harsher acne treatment products. In addition to its gentle attributes, eucalyptus oil has been found to work as an anti-inflammatory AND anti-bacterial oil with its powerful properties. Both inflammation and bacteria play a huge role in acne and its persistence.
You’ve probably heard coconut oil being used in cooking and even hair care. Well the natural, and incredible, benefits don’t stop there! Coconut oil, on top of all the other uses for this natural oil, also works wonders on fighting acne. Similar to eucalyptus oil, coconut oil poses anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits when using it on the skin. With its ability to fight bacteria on the skin, it helps to gently sooth the skin while fighting acne.
Another oil that’s gentle and works well for all skin types. Grapeseed oil helps to minimize the oil in the skin, without causing too much drying. In addition, grapeseed oil is said to be very soothing on the skin-something that acne prone skin definitely needs as it tends to be stressed when fighting acne.
