Ahhh the start of fall! The leaves are changing, the weather is getting cooler, the air has that crisp scent to it. What’s not to love? We know you’re sad to see summer go but there’s something so refreshing about the beginning of fall. The start of a new season always has us ready to make some changes to our skin care routine, you too? We hope so because we’re sharing the steps to firmer, smoother, toned skin to help you start the fall season off right and get your skin in check.
If you’re serious about stepping up your skincare game to achieve firm, smooth AND toned skin you have to start off by getting really serious about your exfoliation routine. Not only do you need to exfoliate regularly, but you also really need to exfoliate your entire body. Dry brushing has quickly grown in popularity because it has incredible benefits when it comes to exfoliating your entire body to achieve firm, smooth, toned skin. If you’re not already using a dry brush, you definitely want to give it a try – you have NO idea what you’re missing out on. By the way, exfoliating (dry brushing included) is pretty phenomenal at giving your skin a collagen production boost.
One of the other steps that you should take to achieve the skin you’re looking for is working out! Surprised? Well, when we get our bodies moving our blood gets to pumping and so does our heart rate, it triggers a response in our bodies that basically just gets things moving better and more frequently. Since many of us sit at a desk (or somewhere) for hours at a time, this is important now more than ever before. Get active to get your body to start functioning the way it’s supposed to! It helps to tighten your skin and really create a toned look overall – not just because you’re building muscle but also because of the way your body functions when it’s moving more consistently.
Hopefully you know that moisturizing your skin is a crucial part of your skin care routine (for your entire body). Finally, make sure any and all products you’re using on your skin are those that are formulated to work with YOUR skin type. Anytime we use products that aren’t made for our skin type we’re at risk to cause irritation in our skin and achieve the exact opposite of what we’re trying to. That even means down to your shower gel – make sure it’s moisturizing and not drying.
