While we make our way into the warm weather months, most of us are feeling less inspired to wear a lot of foundation and other makeup products to create that gorgeous glowing skin look. Makeup is a great trick to use to create the look of glowing skin, but what about achieving glowing skin without the help of makeup? We know that it’s not always possible to get into your facialist as often as you’d like to get that professional glow, but we have found some tricks that will give you a makeup free glow.
Make Sure You’re Getting ALL Your Makeup Off at Night
We don’t need to tell you the importance of taking your makeup off at night. Sleeping with makeup on has been found to cause breakouts and other skin related issues, keeping you from achieving that glow you want. While you may be taking your makeup off and cleansing…are you REALLY getting all the residue and product off? It’s easy to rush through the process and many tend to leave product behind on their skin. One of the best ways to be sure you’re fully cleansing your skin is to use a white towel when cleansing your skin. The white towel will show if you have product left on the skin, repeat the cleansing process until the towel is free of any additional product coming off your skin.
Get Your Skin Soft Before Using a Mask
Using high quality facial masks are such an essential part of a healthy skin care routine, but it’s not enough to just slap the masks on during your weekly skin care routine. Experts suggest that one of the best ways to really make the most of facial masks is to make sure that your skin is nice and soft, and the pores are open, before applying the mask to your skin. The best way to do this is to steam your skin, hopping in the shower to benefit from the steam created or just steaming your face will do! Follow up the steam by applying the mask right away. Doing this process will ensure that your skin is open and much more likely to fully absorb the products that you’re applying since the pores are open and soft.
Don’t Skip Your Pout
Lips tend to be one of the most forgotten areas in the average person’s skin care routine. But when you’re working on creating glowing skin, it’s important to make sure you’re taking care of your pout as well! Since our lips tend to get dry and are thicker than the skin on the rest of our face, to keep them healthy and flawless make it a point to exfoliate your pout on a regular basis. Exfoliating lips can be done with a home recipe using sugar, or a specific lip scrub. Regardless of the method you choose, make sure that you’re using it at least a couple times a week to remove the dead skin cells and keep your lips glowing with the rest of your skin.
