Do you want healthy skin? Of course you do! At least, we hope so! What if we told you that you could actually wake up to healthy skin? Would you believe us? Well, there are actual and tangible steps you can take to wake up to healthy skin. While there is a lot that goes in to creating skin that’s healthy and stays healthy, taking certain steps in the evening can allow you to wake up to skin that’s much happier (and healthier). Ready to wake up to healthy skin? We thought you might be, so we’ll stop the chatter and get down to it.
Always Cleanse Thoroughly
Cleansing your skin before bed is not a negotiable skin care routine. Our skin is exposed to so many different pollutants and environmental elements throughout the day, cleansing our skin as we complete the day is the best way to get all that ‘stuff’ off the surface of our skin. Many experts believe that when you cleanse your skin you’re also able to remove a lot of free radicals that you may have been exposed to throughout the day. The point is…cleanse your skin every single evening. Make sure that you’re cleansing your skin thoroughly, take your time with this step and make sure that you’re getting everything off your skin’s surface that may cause harm.
Use An Antioxidant-Infused Serum
If you’re not already using a serum in your night time skin care routine, now is definitely the time to start. Serums are great sources of antioxidants and antioxidants are powerful ingredients for our skin and keeping it healthy. Applying a serum before bed allows your skin to really relax and be able to fully absorb the products through the evening. As you may have guessed, using a serum that’s loaded with antioxidants is going to be your best bet for getting the best results of your efforts. Serums like these helps to repair your skin and encourage the natural healing process, allowing you to wake up with much healthier skin than you went to bed with.
Add A Night Cream Moisturizer
Using the same moisturizer in the evening as you do during your morning skin care routine? You’re going to want to make some adjustments there. Since you’re heading to bed, not putting makeup on after your night time skin care routine many experts stress the importance of using a night cream type of moisturizer. This is the time your skin can take on some additional moisture with a formula that’s a bit thicker. It helps to really lock in the moisture and give you skin the extra benefits throughout the night.
Get Enough Sleep
This may seem obvious but so many people don’t get enough sleep on a regular basis. One of the best ways to wake up to healthy skin is to actually get some solid sleep through the night. Make it a habit of getting the recommended 7-8 hours every night. This is the time your skin and body works to repair itself, giving you much healthier and glowing skin.
